How to Swap
Step 1: Sign up for an account
Sign up for a Swappit.me account. It’s free for Swappies and you get access to an online portal with a record of all swap requests. Swappers can sign up for a paid plan to create listings, receive reviews and access premium verification features. Businesses and organisations can sign up for the Business plan to display the name, location and website link on the user profile page.
Step 2: Search for swap offers
Visit the main listings page to view all listings on a map, or scroll further down the page to search for listings by the offer category, receiving category, currency or location. Use the slider to further filter the listings by amount.
The search form will filter all listings to display offers relevant to your search as soon as a selection is made in any field. To view more listings, click on the ‘Load More’ button at the end of the page.
You can also view listings in specific categories by using the dropdown in the top menu under ‘Listings’. Category pages have search filters customised to the specific category.
Step 3: Pick a swap offer
When you have found a swap offer which meets your search criteria, click on the ‘Swap’ button associated with the offer. This will open a new page with more details about the offer including the ‘Terms of Swap’, ‘Swap Window’ and other category specific offer details.
Step 4: Send a swap request
Under ‘Swap Window’, you will find the swap request form. Read the offer details and the Swapper’s ‘Terms of Swap’ carefully before sending a swap request. If you do not understand or agree to the terms, go back to the listings page and select a different offer.
Only send a swap request if the amount of your request matches that of the offer. To send a request, enter the swap amount in the swap request form located under ‘Swap Window’ and hit the ‘Send Request’ button. If you can’t see this form, ensure you are logged in to your Swappit.me account.
Before sending a swap request, ensure that you will be available during the swap window and that you are sending the request within the availability timeframe of the Swapper (if stated under the ‘Terms of Swap’).
Step 5: Confirm swap details with the Swapper
After sending the request, you will be redirected to the swap request page which will display your offer amount and details of the swap offer. There will be a private discussion chat box open for you and the Swapper to confirm details of the swap.
Step 6: Mark the swap complete
Once the swap is completed, toggle the ‘Swap Completed’ tab at the end of the page to rate your experience and write a short review for the Swapper. Hit the ‘Mark Complete’ button on the form when you are ready to send the form.
The swap request discussion chat will be closed and your review will be submitted for moderation when the swap request is marked as complete. The number of swaps on the Swappie and Swapper profiles will be updated to reflect the completed swap.
If your review is approved by the moderation team, both the Swappie and Swapper will receive an email notification. The Swapper will be able to leave one reply to your review.
